
2011 Summer Schedule

2-DAY CAMPS
Trail Riding 101 (Beginner/Advanced Beginner level riding; Ages 7-13) This camp is ideal for children who are interested in learning basic horsemanship with an emphasis on trail riding, trail safety and etiquette. Riding experience is not necessary to attend this camp. Riding assessments will be done on the first day and campers matched with trail-safe horses best suited for their riding level. On the second day, campers will be guided on a trail ride through the forest followed by a picnic lunch.
Dates: August 6 -7, 9:00am -1pm daily; lunch provided.
Price: $225
Horsemanship Overnight Camp: Campers sleep indoors and are supervised by camp counselors at all times. Breakfast and Lunch is provided each day; after riding, campers will enjoy a guest speaker, dinner, a movie and lots of fun!
(Intermediate/Advanced level riding, Ages 9-13) Riding experience is required to attend this camp. Campers must have attended a previous NARS camp OR be able to walk, trot and canter on a horse with confidence. One-on-one riding instruction will be included as well as some safe and fun horseback exercises that will challenge the rider and teach better balance and communication with the horse. Horses will be provided for those who do not have their own; however, campers with their own horses are welcome and overnight stalls will be provided for a nominal fee.

3 DAY CAMPS
Horsemanship 202 Camp (Intermediate/Advanced level riding, Ages 10-15) Riding experience is required to attend this camp. Campers must have attended a previous NARS camp OR be able to walk, trot and canter on a horse with confidence. This camp is for kids who are ready to take their riding skills to the next level! Emphasis will be on more advanced horsemanship and riding skills. One on one riding instruction will be included. Campers will also be taught a “hands on” approach to horse health & basic first aid, nutrition and practical horse ownership. Horses will be provided for those who do not have their own however, campers with their own horses are welcome and overnight stalls will be provided for a nominal fee.

4 DAY CAMPS
NARS Kids Camp (All riding levels, Ages 6-12) This camp is for the child who has always wanted to learn how to ride a horse or needs to gain more confidence with their horsemanship skills. The camp program is geared towards the horse lover who wants learn all about horses. We will assess each rider and design the riding portion of camp according to each rider’s ability. Each camper will have their own horse to ride, groom and care for through the week. Camp will also include fun horse related arts & crafts, the basics of barn life, and much more. This will be a fun, challenging, yet safe experience for everyone! This is the original NARS Camp. Children that have attended this camp in the past may find our 2- and 3-day camps more interesting and challenging (depending on riding ability); however, we welcome all new and repeat campers!!
